Maxine Miller Crow was born September 30, 1936 to Joseph Larson and Nettie Woodbury Miller in Salt Lake City, Utah. She passed away in Stockton, California, on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from complications of an infection and dementia. She married, Claron Dean Crow, in 1957. Maxine attended West High School, Salt Lake City. She graduated from the University of Tennessee with a degree in accounting.
Claron and Maxine were the owners of Stretch & Sew Fabrics in Stockton, California. Maxine was active in her community serving in several leadership positions with Soroptimist Club and the Haute Couture Society. She also served as a docent for the Haggin Museum.
She was an endowed member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served as Ward Primary President, Ward Relief Society Instructor, Ward Compassionate Service Leader, Ward Organist and Chorister, Stake Relief Society Presidency, and Seminary Teacher. Maxine enjoyed her association with the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, serving as Lesson Leader, Company President, Local Camp Captain and Regional Representative.
Maxine was a devoted wife and mother and is survived by 5 children: Steven Dean (Karen) Crow, Judy Lynn (Clint) Harper, Sandra Jean (Jeff) Blackwell, Bruce Allen (Jennifer) Crow, Douglas Scott (Jen) Crow. Grandmother of Clarence James Johnson, Mary Ann Elizabeth (Robert) Franklin, Logan Kyle (Jenna) Blackwell, Brenna Michelle (Ky) Hanchett, Cody Nicholas Blackwell, Parker Reed Blackwell, Alyssa Mickelle Crow, Austin Crow, John Andrew Crow, Edward Allen Crow, Emily (Dallin) Miller and Jonathan Scott Crow. She is the great-grandmother to Caiden Brooke Aseanith Johnson Pflueger and Spencer St. James Franklin. She is also survived by her sister Janice (Wayne) Ashby. She was preceded in death by her brother Frank Woodbury Miller. She loved the Lord and served in whatever capacity she could to help others. She was a kind, gentle, hardworking woman who was much loved and loved all.
Funeral Services will be at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints – West Lane Meetinghouse, 1616 Pyrenees Ave, Stockton, California on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Family and friends may visit from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. Sacramento Valley National Cemetery.
